Hello everyone, how ya been?

Yep, it's been awhile.  Hope you've all been ok.  Sorry for the length of time between the last post and this one, just haven't felt like doing the blog thing.  However, there seems to be a bunch of time available at this point in my life, so here's a new blog post.

As life sometimes happens, ya gotta stop and take a look at where ya been, where ya are, and where ya wanna go.  When we first started this adventure, we thought that our budget and our 1999 Winnebago Chieftain were what would work well for us.  After almost 2 1/2 years of the adventure, we've decided that maybe the adventure needed some modifications because it seems that life has happened in a way that only God knew about.  Both the budget and the Winnebago need some work on them, so we're taking advantage of the hospitality and generosity of our daughter and her family in Clearfield, Utah so we can hole up for awhile.  Don't know how long, but it looks like it'll be more than a year, possibly two years.

The original plan was to travel around and see our kids in Ohio, Oregon, Utah, and California as well as other places, and kinda make the circuit, ya know?  We made it to Ohio our first summer, haven't made it to Oregon yet, but did a bunch of California from this last March - October.  With the exception of a few times, we'll be seeing only the sights around the SLC area for the duration, which might not be too bad, just not as good as what we'd hoped previously.  As I'm hoping to make more blog entries, future posts will include various postings about life here.

But the budget will be fixed as we're gonna do what bunches of other fulltime RVers do and get jobs of some sort.  We've put the moho through a bunch of changes and it's about as changed as it can get without some major bucks being thrown at it.  So depending on what the budget is like by the time we leave Clearfield will determine if a different rig will be part of the adventure, or if the mighty Chieftain will be modified to include things like a residential refrigerator, AGM batteries, better exhaust system, and a repaired transmission.  While the Chieftain has served us well, we're needing more storage space, both inside and in the basement area, and that's probably the hardest thing to include in an RV as it's hard for two objects to occupy the same space at the same time, especially when there just isn't that much space to begin with in an RV.  And the Chieftain's storage spaces are crammed full.  What's that ya say?  Get rid of some stuff?  Golly, hadn't thought of that, what a thought!  Maybe we'll try it, thanks for the thought.

As this is the day after Halloween, hope everyone had much fun last night, and you didn't start ODing on the sweets that often happen every year about this time and stops sometime after the 1st of the next year.  Katie went with Amanda, James, Riley, Avery, & Aubrey to visit the neighbors in the area with Riley and Avery dressing as Steve from Minecraft.  I got to be the guy who opened the door and yelled "BOO!" to everyone who happened on the porch dressed as many different things.  Oh yeah, I handed out some candy also.  I was able to scare a few trick-or-treat-ers, which is what handing out the candy is all about, right?  But a few t-o-t-ers read the sign that Riley put on the door which said "Enter to Die" and left.  Didn't knock or ring, just went back down the steps and went to the next house that didn't have a sign on the door.  This was a little depressing as it was my job to scare them t-o-t-ers, and they didn't allow me to do my job.  Eventually, I took the sign down and sat on the porch so I could give away the candy I was prepared to give away.  Didn't make scaring them any easier though.  My job had been modified so when I tried to scare them as they were standing right in front of me, my "BOO!" just didn't carry the same weight.  Darn the bad luck!

Ok, I've rambled on for some time now.  Hope ya all are blessed with a good day!

Well! It's good to see your post, thanks. Any other comments such as content, blogging style, tips for making the layout of the blog look nice? I'm thinking I'm gonna change the background as it's supposed to show an open road, but the blog covers it up. Darn!
